In 2015, we gave up our apartment, sold all our belongings, and set out to travel the world for one year.
Our plan? To travel slowly, staying in any location for at least one week at a time.
We’ve traveled abroad as tourists before, bouncing from city to city, country to country, trying to see as many attractions as we could before heading home. Time was always a constraint and we never felt like we became truly familiar with a place.
So this time, we want things to be different, more deliberate, more slow.
Living abroad is something we’ve dreamed about doing for years. And slow travel gives us the opportunity to have that immersive experience we are looking for. It gives us enough time to experience what it’s like to live like a local, learn the culture, speak the language, meet new people, and enjoy the landscape around us.
We started this blog to chronicle our travels abroad and share our experiences with you, one slow step at a time.
